Cadets 7+

Cadet Taekwondo 7+

Cadet Taekwondo at Ascend is more than just martial arts—it’s a confidence-building journey in a friendly, family-focused environment. Our coaches take time to get to know each student as an individual, adapting their teaching to suit how each child learns best. We welcome students of all backgrounds and abilities, including those with ADHD and autism, and we’re proud to support their unique strengths.

We understand that every child learns at their own pace, and we celebrate that. Our program helps children build resilience, perseverance, and discipline—skills that support them not only in Taekwondo, but in life’s everyday challenges. Whether your child is shy, energetic, focused, or still finding their feet, we’re here to help them grow with confidence.

Cadets also have the opportunity to explore competitive paths in both Kyorugi (sparring) and Poomsae (patterns) if they choose. No matter their goal, every student is supported, included, and encouraged to thrive.

Cadet stripes

At Ascend Taekwondo, stripes help children see their progress in small, achievable steps. Each stripe represents a key skill or behaviour they’ve been working on, from good listening to strong technique.

Stripes keep children motivated, build confidence, and encourage consistent effort. They also give parents a clear picture of what their child is learning and how they’re moving toward their next belt.

They’re simple, positive milestones that celebrate every step forward on a child’s Taekwondo journey.

🥋 Cadet Tenets of Taekwondo

These are the five promises we try our best to follow in every class. They help us become stronger, kinder, and more confident—both in Taekwondo and in everyday life.

1. Courtesy – Being Kind

We use good manners, listen carefully, and treat everyone with respect. We help make our class a friendly place.

2. Integrity – Doing the Right Thing

We tell the truth, take responsibility, and try our best even when no one is watching.

3. Perseverance – Never Giving Up

We keep trying, even when something feels hard. Every time we practise, we get a little better.

4. Self‑Control – Staying Calm and Focused

We control our bodies and our emotions. We stay safe, make good choices, and use our skills responsibly.

5. Indomitable Spirit – Being Brave

We show courage, try new things, and don’t let challenges stop us. We believe in ourselves.
