Upcoming grading dates

Mark your calendars! Here are the scheduled dates for our next grading sessions. Please note specific times and location details will be communicated closer to the date via email to eligible students.

Tuesday 10th Feb 

Tigers (dance studio)

5.15 - 6pm and 6 -7pm

Cadets/ Taekwondo (main sports hall)

7 - 8pm (White - Yellow tags)

7.45 - 8.45pm (Yellow - green belts)

7 - 8.45pm (green belt up)

Eligibility for grading

To ensure every student is prepared and confident, there are a few prerequisites for participating in a grading examination at Ascend Taekwondo:

  • Invitation to grade: Students must receive a formal invitation from their instructor to participate in the grading. This invitation signifies that you have demonstrated the necessary skills and commitment.
  • Black stripe requirement: All students must have earned their black stripe on their current belt. This stripe indicates that you have mastered the essential techniques for your current level and are ready to attempt the next.

If you have any questions about your eligibility, please speak directly with your instructor.

Prepare for success

Grading day is an exciting time! To help you feel completely ready and comfortable, here's some advice regarding uniform requirements:

  • Cadets & Taekwondo students: You must arrive in your full Dobok (Taekwondo uniform) complete with your current belt correctly tied.
  • Tigers: Please wear your Ascend t-shirts along with white Dobok bottoms and your current belt.

Remember to get a good night's sleep, eat a healthy meal, and arrive with a positive attitude. Your instructors are here to support you every step of the way. Good luck, and we can't wait to see you shine!
